Yorke: Thought I Could

Yorke confronts the challenge of change on her latest single ‘Thought I Could’. Oftentimes, the prospect of blossoming and advancing is one we all hope for, but it doesn’t come without its consequences. Yorke perfectly captures the double edged emotions surrounding unshackling from the world around you.

Stemming from a panicked frame of mind, caused by the need to “tell someone that I was leaving,” the track was born. Fleshing out the raw, intimate details of the agonising fate of leaving home, layered with soft melodies and staunch choruses, Yorke’s vision gleams.

Mixed by Mark Rankin, ‘Thought I Could’ delivers bold drums and hypnotic production that gives listeners a sentiment of hope in the trials of their own life. The single reveals Yorke’s ambition in the world of music; to help people find a way through their own obstacles, and allow people to feel “the power of music,” letting them get “different things out of someone else’s story”.

This is only a slither of the potential Yorke has to offer in her musical craftsmanship. Be sure to listen to ‘Thought I Could’ out now.
