Moreton reveal raw video for See Yourself

Today, Moreton release the video to their latest single See Yourself, featuring James Vincent McMorrow. The track stands as a force to eliminate the stigmatisation of mental health, tackling the subject of stripping back layers and bravado, to let a new love witness, and weather the storm of vulnerability and struggle.

The newly released video, directed by award-winning filmmaker Mia Forrest, is the perfect accompaniment to the essence of the track. Shot on 16mm film, and featuring a collection of diverse individuals, all volunteers with whom the song resonated, the video is courageous in highlighting the realness, and beauty of imperfections and sensitivity.

“The spirit of the song is about both self-acceptance and showing compassion to others.  We wanted to show the extraordinariness of ordinary people, simply by presenting them as they are – beautiful, nervous and vulnerable for the camera,” says lead singer Georgia.

Shooting on film comes with limitations that meant the shoot was very instinctive and short, and that’s part of film’s vibrancy beyond the aesthetic of the medium”, she adds.

A showcase of art that is both heartwarming, and simultaneously heartbreaking, the music video to See Yourself is a testament to Moreton’s vision to articulate and present real tribulations, and the bravery of letting fragility show.

Collaborator on the track, James Vincent McMorrow shares, “It’s a tough prospect to land a song like this and Georgia really nailed it, so I’m grateful to be part of it, and I hope that people find a fragment of themselves in it. Honestly, my most favourite song I’ve ever been asked to sing on.”
