Yorke announces major tour & EP news alongside ‘Treading Water’ visual

Yorke gives us the fix of music news we need today, releasing her music video for Treading Water. Additionally, the rising star has announced the release of her debut EP Liberosis for Friday March 27th, with tour dates in May to celebrate the EP release.

Treading Water sees Yorke expand her brand of pensive songwriting into a more fiery, alt-pop canvas. The visual for the track, directed by Imogen Grist was filmed with the scenic New South Wales South Coast as the central location.

Director Imogen Grist summarises the choice of the backdrop, sharing, “I was struck by Grace’s strength and sensitivity as a performer, so I really wanted to capture that in the music video. This duality became a way to explore the track even further – the light and dark, the soft and cold, the overall bittersweet nature of the lyrics.”

Yorke reiterates the sentiment that the panoramic setting is a conscious element of serving the raw sensitivity of the track. The singer says, “we really wanted to create something abstract and emotive. With the help of Imogen (Grist) and her amazing team, we set out to interpret the transition from internal struggle to strength and empowerment as per the songs message. I think it sums it up perfectly.”
