REVIEW: FRANCO EP

Franco have erupted into the market with their self-titled debut EP ‘Franco’. Vocalist Natalie Slade and producer/percussionist Plutonic Lab join forces to create a sleek five track EP. ‘Franco’ boasts a unique eclecticism, with each track forging its own identity. The EP explores a diverse line-up of sonic and vocal arrangements, blending in elements from both Slade and Plutonic Lab’s respective musical styles. Slade effortlessly constructs impassioned, robust vocals whilst also dabbling into a raw, vulnerable delivery. Plutonic Lab inventively capitalises on Slade’s driving vocal through coupling it with playful, high-energy beats.

Of the collaboration, Plutonic Lab says “The FRANCO EP is a sonic diary of us getting to know each other’s music, tastes and style, and figuring out what we can do together. I’m fascinated with how we interpret each other’s ideas, and things get transformed pretty quickly when we get creative”. The musical spark and chemistry between Slade and Plutonic Lab is explosive, and the EP solidifies their appetite to push boundaries and create adventure in their craft.
