Ava Yves tells of tumultuous love on debut (in)Sanity

Ava Yves sends chills down the spine with her latest single in(Sanity). The new project of singer-songwriter Vendulka, Ava Yves uses brooding, doleful soundscapes to ponder the tumult of love, and when where the line must be drawn for love. 

“Einstein is credited with saying, ‘Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results’,” said Aya. “I wrote (in)Sanity in the first few weeks of meeting someone and they had pulled the classic ‘I’m not ready for a relationship’ line. I knew this person was an emotionally unavailable mess and I went into it anyway, and that’s a theme I wanted to highlight throughout the song. When the rose tinted glasses come on, all sane, rational decisions go out the window.” 

The debut release from Yves sees her voice burrowed amongst evocative production efforts from Xavier Dunn (Jack River, CXLOE, Graace). As she narrates the tale of falling victim to love, Ava Yves says, “to me, music has always been about creating conversation, creating connections. Helping people through whatever emotion they’re feeling at the time – be it positive or negative – it’s a way to share in that feeling together”.  

With an EP to follow this single later in the year, this enthralling performer is one you’re going to want to keep an eye on.
