Guard makes entrance with i (don’t) miss u

Guard remerges, revitalised and ready to conquer the music scene, making an entrance with his latest single i (don’t) miss u. Expressing his experience tolerating toxicity, the track details the exhaustion and constant chase as two worlds of a relationship become tangled into one.

Backed by delicate, spacious guitar Guard sings, “I wish I made you happy”, relaying the tolls of being emotionally invested in a codependent relationship. “The song is very personal to me. It is a one take ballad about a bad breakup I went through this past year in LA”, says Guard.

It’s about recovering from a codependent relationship. As an independent queer musician who has severely struggled with mental health issues, I am hoping to help others who are dealing with self deprecation”, the singer shares.

With the hope of broadcasting his sentiments to those struggling, Guard uses i (don’t) miss u to capture the universality of having your identity entwined with another person, only to feel trapped and secluded.
