Jack Gray: Drunk Talk

Jack Gray packs a punch in his latest single ‘Drunk Talk,’ giving us a glimpse of what’s to come on his forthcoming debut EP to be released in early 2019.

‘Drunk Talk’ shows us the scope and versatility of Gray’s craft, as he succeeds his vibrant and vivacious track ‘My Hands’ with moodier and edgier elements in ‘Drunk Talk.’

As a producer, Jack arranges his addictive, sultry vocals alongside lively climactic beats to create an effortlessly punchy summer jam. Tying the track together is an anthemic chorus, as he sings ‘your drunk talk isn’t fair’, referencing his experiences and encounters as a musician.

Jack tells, ‘Drunk Talk is a track I worked on late one night with my mates in the studio.’ The central concept of ‘Drunk Talk’ emerges from, as Jack mentions, ‘one of us ends up drinking way too much and starts talking shit. So, I wrote a song about it. It’s such a universal thing – waking up the next morning and wondering what complete nonsense came out of our mouths.’

Gray cements his holistic musical prowess; confidently juggling his own production and lyricism to guide the essence of ‘Drunk Talk’. He fluidly collapses the pop mould, navigating his way with indie, experimental pop sonic elements. All the while, he capitalises on the notion and meaning of ’Drunk Talk’ by diving into the more plaguing lows and pitfalls of drunk conversation.

‘Drunk Talk’ gives listeners a delightful extension of Jack Gray’s sound, and his seamless production, lyrical and vocal efforts show us the true magnitude of Jack Gray’s upcoming musical journey.
