Lakyn unravels free-flowing emotions on ‘Choir Boy’

Lakyn wastes no time as he releases new single ‘Choir Boy’ following his 2018 EP release, ‘& Pains’. To Lakyn, ‘Choir Boy’ is ‘about timing and being at peace with where you’re at. It’s about knowing that wherever you are with your expectations, it’s important to remind yourself that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be”.

The track stems uncharacteristically, from Lakyn’s kitchen bench, in a low-key personal jam session. The track proves popular, as friends “would always ask [me] to play it when we were just jamming out at home or at parties. I didn’t know if it was good enough, but they kept asking for it, so I decided to explore it musically”.

Indicatively, the freedom and space Lakyn received throughout the origins of this song allowed the song to blossom into an introspective commentary on acceptance and growth.
