Tyne-James Organ returns on new single ‘Hold Me Back’
Tyne-James Organ stands as an ally to women and the Me Too Movement in his latest song Hold Me Back. The loaded track establishes its presence through Organ’s outrage at the misogyny women are subjected to.
Organ’s hawkish vocals backed by tough guitar riffs makes a poignant statement on the sexism that women endure in their daily lives. “On a night out with friends, I witnessed a confronting and horrible incident of harassment against one of the female friends I was with. Seeing my friend be assaulted like that and seeing how it affected her really shocked me. We confronted the perpetrator and got him barred from the club. But knowing that so many women go through this experience, I just couldn’t shake the sense of anger within me, and this song was written shortly after that awful night”, Organ reflects.
The singer uses his platform to recognise that he is “coming from an outsider’s perspective, and I hope to approach the topic with the utmost sensitivity for those who have suffered the effects of this type of violence”. Tyne-James Organ uses the track as a pledge to stand by the women that are victims of harassment, as he shares, “I’m calling it out – men need to stop treating women like this, it’s not OK, and it’s not good enough to turn a blind eye”.
A portion of proceeds from sales/streams will go towards the White Ribbon foundation.
